Hailing from a very humble background and owing to her family's needs, Tiffany was compelled to start working at the very young age of 14, as a shampoo girl at a salon in her hometown in Malaysia. At the age of 19, Tiffany moved to Singapore with an aspiring dream to pursue a professional career within the salon industry.
As a self-motivated and enterprising woman, Tiffany has not ceased advancing in her professional career. She is actively seeking to enhance herself in terms of expertise and knowledge.
Tiffany is armed with over 20 years of experience in hairdressing. Together with her husband, Robin, who also began his career at the age of 19, they have a combined experience spanning over 40 years.
The duo was fortunate enough to be joined by another skilled hair designer, Matt, the Creative Director of Soul Scissors Studio. They now have over 60 years of collective experience and have served over 3,000 happy customers over the last 13 years!
Were the last 13 years a bed of roses for them? No!
One of the most difficult challenges they encountered was communicating with English-speaking clients who did not speak Mandarin. As Tiffany and Robin did not learn English extensively in Malaysia at the time, they had to learn it the hard way by watching YouTube video tutorials at night and mustering the guts to start communicating with their clients in English more frequently.
Robin constantly prioritizes listening to and understanding their clients before offering any professional advice. He also examines the client's hair texture, facial shape, and whether or not the hairstyle is compatible with the client's profession. With this light-hearted and cheerful approach, Tiffany and Robin gradually became good friends with all of their clients.
